Ignition Coil: Service and Repair






Ignition Coils with Power Output Stages

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Ignition coil puller (T40039)

Removing

Observe the safety precautions. Refer to --> [ Safety Precautions ] Safety Precautions.

Note the general information regarding the ignition system. Refer to --> [ Ignition System ] Ignition System.

To pull off the spark plugs, place the (T40039) on the top most thick rib - arrow - of the ignition coils with power output stages.





Lower ribs may be damaged if they are used.

- Remove the engine cover. Refer to --> [ Engine Cover ] Engine Cover.

- Pull all ignition coils approximately 30 mm out of the spark plug shafts - arrow - using the (T40039).





- Disconnect the electrical connectors - arrows - from the ignition coils with output stages.





Installing

- Set all ignition coils with output stages loosely into the spark plug shafts.

- Align the ignition coils with output stages to the electrical connectors - arrows - and connect all connectors to ignition coils with output stages simultaneously.





- Press the ignition coils with output stages uniformly onto the spark plugs by hand.
