Shift Lever and Shift Housing through 10.06, Servicing

Lubricate bearing areas and slide surfaces with grease (G 000 450 02).

Bend open tabs to remove

On selector bracket

Removing and installing --> [ Removing and installing selector cable and
shift cable ]

24 Shift cable

Removing from shift lever guide and installing on shift lever guide --> [ Removing and installing selector cable and
shift cable ]

25 Lock washer

Always replace

26 Nut M8, 25 Nm; Nut M6, 8 Nm

Only fits in one position

Always replace

Removing and installing selector cable and shift cable





- Remove retaining disc from shift cable - A - and selector cable - B -.

To do this, lift up retainer using a screwdriver - arrow 1 - and press off locking washer - arrow 2 -.

- Remove shift cable - A - from shift lever mount.

- Remove selector cable - A - from selector elbow mount.

Removing and installing lock washer





- To remove and install lock washer - arrow A -, push spacer bushing - arrow B - to stop with a screwdriver in direction of - arrow C - and pull off lock washer.

Do not tilt bushing when pushing down.

Groove in shift lever for lock washer must be visible.

Carefully release tension on spring.

Installing spring





- Insert spring so that leg - A - contacts upper part of pin - arrow -.

- Then pull leg - B - far enough downward so that it rests on the underside of the pin - arrow -.
