All Wheel Drive Control Module

Removing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench, 2 to 10 Nm (V.A.G 1783)

Drip tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)

- Switch ignition off.

- Disconnect connectors - 1 - and - 2 - from the control module.





- Place the drip tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208) under the rear final drive.

- Remove bolts - arrows -.





Ensure no parts fall below when removing the control module.

- Carefully remove the all wheel drive control module - A -.

- Carefully grasp the Haldex clutch control valve - A - with pliers on the metal housing - arrow - and remove.





- Remove oil pressure/temperature sensor - B -.

- Remove sealing ring - arrow - from housing.





Installing

Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:

The valve sealing rings have different internal diameters.





- 1 - internal diameter: 11 mm

- 2 - internal diameter: 12 mm

- 3 - sealing ring on valve body

- First coat the sealing ring - 1 - with Haldex oil and mount it on the Haldex clutch control valve.





- Then sealing ring - 2 - and - 3 -.

- Press the sealing ring centering lips (quantity 4) - 3 - into the groove.

- Place the new cover - 2 - on the control module - 1 -.





The cover fits in one position only.

- Insert the Haldex clutch control valve - 3 - into the control module - 1 -.





Valve only fits in one position.

- Insert the oil pressure/temperature sensor - 4 - into the control module - 1 -.





The sensor fits in one position only.

- Carefully position control module - A - and tighten bolts - arrows - to specifications => [ (Item 2) Bolt, 6 Nm ] All Wheel Drive Control Module Assembly Overview.





- Check oil level in the Haldex clutch. Refer to => [ Generation II Haldex Clutch Oil Level, Checking and Filling ] Generation II Haldex Clutch Oil Level, Checking and Filling.
