Oil Cooler: Service and Repair






Oil Cooler, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Drip tray for workshop crane (VAS 6208)





Removing

Proceed as follows:

CAUTION!
Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

When the engine is warm the cooling system is under pressure.

Reduce pressure by covering coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and carefully opening.

- Drain coolant => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] Cooling System, Draining and Filling.

- Remove the accessory assembly bracket => [ Accessory Assembly Bracket, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the bolts - 4 and 5 - and remove the oil cooler - 3 - together with the seal - 2 -.





Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Tightening specifications => [ Oil Filter, Oil Cooler and Oil Pressure Switch, Assembly Overview ] Oil Filter, Oil Cooler and Oil Pressure Switch, Assembly Overview

Always replace gaskets and seals.

Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type.

- Install the oil cooler - 3 - with a new seal - 2 -.
