Fuel Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Fuel Pressure Sensor, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Assembly tool (T10118)





• Socket wrench insert 27 mm (VAS 5301/7)





Removing

CAUTION!
Fuel system is under pressure! Fuel pressure must be reduced to a residual pressure before opening high pressure area of injection system, see procedure on page => [ Releasing Pressure in High Pressure Area ] Releasing Pressure In High Pressure Area.

Rabbit and Scirocco:

- Remove the charge air guide leading to the noise generator.

- Remove the upper bracket on the Generator (GEN) (C)- arrow -.





All:





- Loosen the coolant pipe - arrows - from the intake manifold.

- Disengage connector from Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247) using assembly tool (T10118).





- Unscrew Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247) using socket wrench insert 27mm (VAS 5301/7).

- Collect escaping fuel with a rag.

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Coat the fuel pressure sensor (G247) sealing point with clean engine oil.

- Tightening specifications => [ Fuel Rail, Assembly Overview ] Fuel Rail, Assembly Overview.
