Rocker Arms and Shaft

Disassembly


Do not attempt to drive the billeted bolt from the rocker arm shaft. This can damage the rocker arm retainer and bolt assembly.






- Remove the rocker arm retainer (3) and bolt (2) by performing the following procedure:

- Using adjustable pliers (1), grip the edges of the retainer (3).

- Apply an upward force with a slight rocking motion until the retainer (3) disengages from shaft.






- Remove the rocker arms (7). Identify the component locations for reassembly in their original locations.

Assembly

- Install the rocker arms on the shaft. Install them in their original positions if reused. Ensure the rocker shaft, all the retainers and washers are properly positioned and installed in the correct locations.

- Install the rocker arms and shaft to the cylinder head.
