B1153
B1153 - Left Rear Heated Seat Switch Supply Voltage Circuit Low
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.
• When Monitored: Ignition on, during the heated seat operation.
• Set Condition: The Left Rear Door Module detects the voltage on the (P199) Heated Seat Switch Indicator Feed circuit or the (P329) Panel Lamps Dimmer circuits are below 2.5 volts for over three seconds when the heated seat switch is turned on.
Test Step 1 - TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
• With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
• Operate the Left Rear Heated Seat Switch in both positions several times.
• With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 2
No
• Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 2 - DISCONNECT THE LEFT REAR HEATED SEAT SWITCH AND CHECK DTC
• Turn the ignition off.
• Disconnect the Left Rear Heated Seat Switch harness connector.
• Turn the ignition on.
• With the scan tool erase the DTCs.
• Cycle the ignition switch off then back on.
• With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 3
No
• Replace the Left Rear Heated Seat Switch.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 3 - (P199) HEATED SEAT SWITCH INDICATOR FEED CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
• Turn the ignition off.
• Disconnect the Left Rear Door Module C2 harness connector.
• Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.
• Measure the resistance between ground and the (P199) Heated Seat Switch Indicator Feed circuit in the Left Rear Heated Seat Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?
Yes
• Repair the (P199) Heated Seat Switch Indicator Feed circuit for a short to ground.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
No
• Go to Test Step 4
Test Step 4 - (P329) PANEL LAMPS DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
• Measure the resistance between ground and the (P329) Panel Lamps Driver circuit in the Left Rear Heated Seat Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?
Yes
• Repair the (P329) Panel Lamps Driver circuit for a short to ground.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
No
• Replace the Left Rear Door Module.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
