B198B - All Door Secondary Unlock Control Circuit High
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.
• When Monitored: Continuously.
• Set Condition: When the secondary door unlock relay control circuit does not change from high to low for over 10 seconds.
Test Step 1 - Test For Intermittent Condition
• With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
• Cycle the ignition from ON to OFF and then back to ON.
• Lower the drivers window.
• Close all doors and operate the door locks in lock and unlock position several times. Pause momentarily in between cycles to allow the secondary locks to operate.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 2.
No
• The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Test for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 2 - Secondary Unlock Low Side Driver Circuit Short to Voltage
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Disconnect the secondary door unlock relay.
• Disconnect the TIPM harness connector.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• Measure the voltage between ground and the secondary door unlock relay control circuit.
Is there any voltage Present?
Yes
• Repair the secondary unlock relay control circuit for a short to voltage.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
No
• Replace the totally integrated power module.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
