B2323 - Headlamp Washer Motor Control Circuit Low
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.
• When Monitored: With the headlamp washers activated.
• Set Condition: When the totally integrated power module detects an shorted low condition.
Test Step 1 - Intermittent Condition
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, clear all DTCs.
• Turn the headlamp washers ON.
• With the scan tool read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 2.
No
• The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Test for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 2 - Headlamp Washer Relay Supply Circuit Open
• Test all fuses and circuit breakers before proceeding with the diagnosis of this DTC.
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Remove the headlamp washer relay.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• Measure the voltage on the headlamp washer relay supply circuit at the headlamp washer relay.
Is the voltage more than 10.0 volts?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 3.
No
• Repair the circuit for an open.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 3 - Headlamp Washer Relay
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Replace the headlamp washer relay with a known good relay.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, clear all DTCs.
• Activate the headlamp washers.
• With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 4.
No
• Replace the headlamp washer relay.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics . Body Interior
Test Step 4 - Headlamp Washer Relay Control Circuit Short to Ground
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Disconnect the TIPM connector.
• Measure the resistance to ground of the headlamp washer relay control circuit.
Is the resistance less than 5.0 ohms?
Yes
• Repair the circuit for a short to ground.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
No
• Replace the totally integrated power module.
• Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
