Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair
Vibration Damper
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• 3 Jaw Puller
• Crankshaft Insert (9020)
• Forcing Screw (C-4685-C1)
• Sprocket Installer (9792)
Removing
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
- Remove the right front wheel and tire.
- Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to => [ Accessory Drive Belt ] Accessory Drive Belt.
- Remove the vibration damper bolt.
- Using a 3 jaw puller (1) , and crankshaft insert (9020) (2), remove the vibration damper from the crankshaft.
Installing
- Using the forcing screw (C-4685-C1) (5.9 in.) (2), with the nut and thrust bearing from the sprocket installer (6792) and installer (6792-1) (1), install the vibration damper.
- Install the vibration damper bolt. Tighten the bolt to 95 Nm (70 ft lbs).
- Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to => [ Accessory Drive Belt ] Accessory Drive Belt.
- Install the right front wheel and tire.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
