Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

Front Door Window Regulator

Removing

- Remove the front door trim panel.

- Disconnect the wire harness connector (4) from the window regulator motor (1).






- Remove the 3 screws (3) that secure the window regulator motor to the carrier plate (2) and remove the motor.

- If servicing the window regulator, remove the carrier plate (2) and place it on a workbench. Refer to => [ Carrier Plate ] Carrier Plate.






- Remove the 4 screws (3 and 4) that secure the window regulator rails (1) to the carrier plate and remove the window regulator.

Installing

- If servicing the window regulator, position the window regulator rails (1) to the carrier plate (2) and install the 4 screws (3 and 4). Tighten the screws to 9 Nm (80 in lbs).






- Install the carrier plate. Refer to => [ Carrier Plate ] Carrier Plate.

- Install the window regulator motor (1) onto the carrier plate (2). If necessary, rotate the motor slightly to align the splines on the motor with the window regulator linkage.






- Install the three screws (3) that secure the window regulator motor to the carrier plate. Tighten the screws to 2.8 Nm (25 in lbs).

- Connect the wire harness connector (4) to the window regulator motor.

- Install the front door trim panel.
