Engine Oil Level, Checking

Test Conditions

• Engine oil temperature a min. 60 °C (140 °F)

• Vehicle in a level position.

• After turning off the engine, wait a few minutes to allow the oil to flow back into the oil pan.

Sequence

- Remove the oil dipstick, wipe off with a clean cloth and reinstall it all the way in.

- Remove the oil dipstick again and check the oil level.

a Oil must be added. After topping off, it is sufficient if the oil level is somewhere in the range - b - (shaded area).
b Oil may be topped off.
c Oil must not be added.
