Fuse Holder


When disconnecting and connecting the battery, always perform the work procedure as described in the repair manual. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting. Not adhering to sequence will result in the deactivation of Main Battery Switch -E74- and subsequent damage to electrical system components.

The Touareg has two fuse panels located on the left and right side of the instrument panel.

The illustration depicts the procedure for removing the left fuse panel. Work procedure for removing the right fuse panel is the same.

Removal


When disconnecting battery, procedure must always be followed as described in => [ Disconnecting Sequence ] One-Battery Layout with Auxiliary Battery and Two Battery Layout, Disconnecting and Connecting. Not adhering to sequence will result in the deactivation of Main Battery Switch -E74- and subsequent damage to electrical system components.

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove left side cover of instrument cluster. Refer to => Body Interior 68 Removal and Installation.

- Remove lower storage compartment on driver's side. Refer to => Body Interior 68 Removal and Installation.

- Remove both screws - arrows - and then remove the fuse panel - 1 - toward the inside.






Installation

Install in reverse order of removal.
