Right Primary Catalytic Converter

Removing

- Remove the rear engine cover in - direction of arrows - if applicable.





All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

- Remove the front engine cover in - direction of arrows - if applicable.





- Remove entire air filter housing on right side of vehicle. Refer to => [ Air Filter Assembly Overview ] Description and Operation.

- Remove air guide pipe. Refer to => [ Air Guide Pipe ] Service and Repair.

- Remove electrical connectors - 1 - for Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (G39) and - 2 - for Oxygen Sensor (O2S) behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130) from bracket on right strut tower.





- Disconnect electrical connections and free up electrical wiring to (HO2S (G39) and O2S behind TWC (G130).

- Remove right front wheel.

- Remove bolts and remove front - 1 - and rear - 2 - noise insulation.





- Remove noise insulation bracket bolts - arrows - and bracket.





De-coupling elements on primary catalytic converters must not be bent more than 10 degrees - danger of damage.





- Separate exhaust system at clamping sleeve - 2 -.

Ignore - item 1 -.

- Remove right main catalytic converter bracket bolts - 1 - and - 2 -.

- Remove nuts - arrows - and remove right main catalytic converter.





- Remove bolts - arrow - at right primary catalytic converter bracket.





- Remove nuts - 1 to 3 - and remove right primary catalytic converter.





Installing

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Replace gaskets and self locking nuts.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model.

During installation, all cable ties must be reinstalled at the same location.

- Align exhaust system free of tension. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Service and Repair.
