Selector Mechanism with Lever

• Check the cable for ease of movement after installing it.

Removing

- Remove the center console.

Passat, Passat CC and CC

Tiguan.

- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to one of the following:

Passat

Passat CC and CC

Tiguan

- Remove the selector cable from transmission. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable ] Shift Lever Cable.

- Remove the exhaust system components underneath the heat shield.

with All Wheel Drive (AWD)

- Remove the driveshaft.

Continuation for All

- Remove the heat shield from under the vehicle.

- Remove the 4 nuts for the selector mechanism from above.

- Remove the selector mechanism.

Installing

- Install in the reverse of removal, note the following:

Tightening specification for the nuts: 8 Nm

- After installing, check the cable. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.
