After-Run Coolant Pump, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose clamps up to 25 mm diameter (3094)





Hose clamp pliers (VAS 6362)





Removing

Proceed as follows:

CAUTION!
Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

When the engine is warm the cooling system is under pressure.

Reduce pressure by covering coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and carefully opening.

- Open coolant reservoir cap.

- Remove noise insulation => Body Exterior 50 noise insulation.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - for the After-Run Coolant Pump (V51).





- Place drip tray (VAS 6208) under engine.

- Disconnect the coolant hoses - arrows - together with the hose clamps (3094).

- Remove coolant hoses from After-Run Coolant Pump (V51).

- Remove the bolt - 2 - and the after-run coolant pump (V51).

Installing

Tightening specifications => [ After-Run Coolant Pump, Assembly Overview ] After-Run Coolant Pump, Assembly Overview.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Check the coolant level.
