Removing






- Disconnect the negative battery cable.

- Remove the wiper module.

- Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.

- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation hose (1) from the rocker arm cover.

- Remove the rocker arm cover bolts.

- Remove the rocker arm and gasket.

Installing






- Clean the cylinder head and cover (1) mating surfaces. Inspect the rocker arm cover surface for flatness. Replace the gasket as necessary.

- Inspect the PCV valve hose for damage. Replace as necessary.

- Inspect the seal (3) on the cover bolt for wear or damage. Replace the bolt assembly as necessary.

• The rocker arm cover bolts contain a torque limiter sleeve and a seal (3). The seal and torque sleeve is replaced with the bolt.

- Assemble the gasket to the rocker arm cover by inserting the bolts (2) through each bolt hole on the cover and gasket.

- Install the rocker arm cover (1) and bolts.

- Tighten the rocker arm cover bolts (2) to 12 Nm (106 in lbs).






• Be sure that the PCV valve is properly seated inside the rocker arm cover protrusion and the PCV valve hose completely covers the protrusion of the PCV valve housing.

- Connect the PCV hose (1) to the cylinder head cover.

- Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.

- Install the wiper module.

- Connect the negative battery cable.
