Removing






- Disconnect the negative battery cable.

- Remove the wiper module.

- Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.

- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation hose (1) from the rocker arm cover.

- Remove the rocker arm cover bolts.

- Remove the rocker arm and gasket.

Installing






- Clean the cylinder head and cover (1) mating surfaces. Inspect the rocker arm cover surface for flatness. Replace the gasket as necessary.

- Inspect the PCV valve hose for damage. Replace as necessary.

- Inspect the seal (3) on the cover bolt for wear or damage. Replace the bolt assembly as necessary.

The rocker arm cover bolts contain a torque limiter sleeve and a seal (3). The seal and torque sleeve is replaced with the bolt.

- Assemble the gasket to the rocker arm cover by inserting the bolts (2) through each bolt hole on the cover and gasket.

- Install the rocker arm cover (1) and bolts.

- Tighten the rocker arm cover bolts (2) to 12 Nm (106 in lbs).






Be sure that the PCV valve is properly seated inside the rocker arm cover protrusion and the PCV valve hose completely covers the protrusion of the PCV valve housing.

- Connect the PCV hose (1) to the cylinder head cover.

- Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.

- Install the wiper module.

- Connect the negative battery cable.
