Parallel Parking Assistance Control Module (J791)
The parallel parking assistance control module controls the parking aid functions in vehicles with parallel parking assistance. The parallel parking assistance control module is installed in a bracket in the driver footwell.
Removal
- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.
- Remove the cover in the driver footwell.
- Remove the trim on the driver side.
- Unscrew the six mounting bolts - arrows - and remove the deformation element - 1 -.
- Remove the vehicle electrical system control module. Refer to => [ Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519) ] Service and Repair.
- Remove the left instrument panel relay carrier. Refer to=> [ Left Instrument Panel Relay Carrier ] Left Instrument Panel Relay Carrier.
- Unscrew the mounting bolt - arrow - and remove the parallel parking assistance control module (J791) - 1 - from the right slot in the bracket while paying attention to the connected wires.
- Release the disconnect the 3 harness connectors - arrows -. Remove the parallel parking assistance control module - 1 - from the vehicle.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- During installation, first insert the parallel parking assistance control module into the right slot in the bracket and tighten the mounting bolt to the specification shown in => [ Parallel Parking Assistance Overview ] Parallel Parking Assistance Overview.
- Tighten the mounting bolts - arrows - of the deformation element - 1 - during installation to 9 Nm.
