Reducing Agent (AdBlue(R)) Delivery Module
• The "NOx reducing agent AUS 32" (AdBlue(R)) is simply called reducing agent in the following information.
• The reducing agent can irritate skin, eyes and the respiratory system.
• If the fluid comes into contact with skin, rinse the affected area immediately with plenty of water.
• If necessary, consult a physician.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Special Wrench (T50014)
• Torque Wrench (40-200 Nm) (V.A.G 1332)
Removing

- Remove the reducing agent tank. Refer to => [ Reducing Agent (AdBlue(R)) Tank ] Reducing Agent (AdBlue(R)) Tank.
Protect the connectors, for example with a plastic bag or cable ties, before they become coated with reducing agent. The connectors could be damaged because the reducing agent has a tendency to seep and it crystallizes.
Make sure the reducing agent does not come into contact with clothing or the vehicle body.
If this occurs, wash immediately with clean water and then dry with a lint-free cotton cloth.
If the reducing agent has already crystallized, use warm water and a sponge.
Reducing agent that is not removed will crystallize and can damage the affected surface.
- Disconnect and remove the connectors - arrows -.
- Remove the wire holder - 1 -.
- Remove the reducing agent pump. Refer to => [ Reducing Agent Pump V437 ] Service and Repair.
Seal all openings on the line and the connections immediately with plugs to prevent contaminants from entering. Even tiny particles can cause serious damage to the system.
- Install the special wrench (T50014) as shown and remove the lock ring.
The cover may only be tilted a maximum of 30° after opening it. This prevents damage to the wires and the suction lance inside the delivery module.
- Open the delivery module cover, using the trim removal wedge (3409) , if necessary.
- Carefully reach into the delivery module chamber and turn it counterclockwise to loosen it from its retainer.
- Remove the delivery module upward from the reducing agent tank.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:
- Place the seal in the reducing agent tank opening.
- Insert the delivery module into the reducing agent tank according to the marks on the reducing agent tank.
- The marks - 1 and A - must be opposite each other when inserting.
- Carefully reach into the delivery module chamber and rotate it clockwise to secure it.
- The marks - 1 and B - must be positioned opposite each other.
- Coat the sealing base on the cover with water and carefully press it into the seal. The marks - 1 - must align.
- Install the lock ring and tighten it by hand.
Make sure the lock ring is not installed crooked on the reducing agent tank threads. If the ring is crooked, leaks may result causing extensive corrosion damage.
- Install the special wrench (T50014) on the lock ring as shown and tighten it.
- Wash any leaking reducing agent off with water.
- Slide cable ties - arrows - onto the locking ring.
- Install the reducing agent pump. Refer to => [ Reducing Agent Pump V437 ] Service and Repair.
- Install the reducing agent tank. Refer to => [ Reducing Agent (AdBlue(R)) Tank ] Reducing Agent (AdBlue(R)) Tank.
- Check for leaks. Refer to "Guided Functions" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.
