Rear Side Window

The following describes removing bonded windows using the removal kit for bonded windows (V.A.G 1474 A). It is also possible to use removal kit for bonded windows (VAS 6452).

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Removal kit for bonded windows (V.A.G 1474 A) or removal kit for bonded windows (VAS 6452)

Suction lifter (V.A.G 1344)

Cutting tools for glass (V.A.G 1351)

Window removing kit (V.A.G 1755)

Cartridge gun (V.A.G 1628)

Cartridge heater (V.A.G 1939)

Undamaged Side Window, Removing






Protect the surrounding components from damage.

- Insert the cutting cord - 3 - behind the seal - 1 - into the window flange using the small tube - 2 -.






- Secure the cutting wires - 2 - to the pull handles (V.A.G 1351/1) - 4 -.

- Fold up the seal near - 5 - - arrows a - and protect it from the cutting wire.

- Cut through the adhesive using "sawing" movements - arrows b - with the pull handles (V.A.G 1351/1).

The cutting wire will cut through the centering pins - 3 - without any problem. More force may be needed.

An undamaged side window will be installed again without clips.
