Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair
Secondary Air Injection Pump Motor (V101)
Removing
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to clearance issues:
• Route lines of all types (for example, fuel, hydraulic, Evaporative Emission (EVAP), coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum) and electrical wiring so that the original path is followed.
• Ensure sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
- Remove the noise insulation.
- Disconnect the connectors - 1 and 2 -.
- Press out the clip - 3 - for the wire guide.
- Press out the wire clip at the top front bolt.
- Disconnect the pressure hose - 1 - and intake hose - 2 -. To do so, compress the securing rings.
- Remove the nuts and remove the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump motor upward. When doing this, press the lower bolt (rubber bushing) slightly in, in order to get by at the transmission.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:
• Make sure that the pressure pipe and intake hose lock securely to the AIR pump motor.
