Selector Lever Handle and Cover
Short Description
The handle is removed together with the shift cover.
Removing
- Move the selector lever into the "D" position.
It is not necessary to pull out the handle button - arrow - manually. The button locks in the installed position by itself when the handle is removed.
- Remove the cover.
Handle with Sleeve
- Slide the sleeve under the handle in the - direction of the arrow - to unlock the handle.
Handle with Clamp
- Cut the clamp under the boot - arrow - with side cutters.
Continuation for all Handles
- Disconnect the connector from the cover.
- Remove the handle from the selector lever without pushing the button.
• Do not push the button once the handle has been removed otherwise it will not be possible to install the handle again.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• The selector lever is in the "D" position.
• There is the possibility that the button - arrow - can be pressed into the handle. Never install the handle when the button is pressed in.
• Move the button into the installed position. Refer to => [ Handle Button, Moving to Installed Position ] Handle Button, Moving to Installed Position.
• A new handle is delivered with an assembly aid. Pull out the assembly aid in the - direction of the arrow - just before installing the new handle.
Handle with Sleeve
- Install the handle all the way onto the selector lever and lock it.
- Push the sleeve down to lock it.
Handle with Clamp
- Install the handle with a new clamp.
- Tighten the clamp using the hose clamp pliers (V.A.G 1275).
Continuation for all Handles
- Press the button after installing it.
• If the button stays in the handle after being pressed, this means it was installed incorrectly. If this happens, remove the handle again and move the button in the installed position. Refer to => [ Handle Button, Moving to Installed Position ] Handle Button, Moving to Installed Position. Reinstall the handle again.
