Selector Lever Handle
Short Description:
The handle is removed together with the cover.
Removing
- Move the selector lever into the "D" position.
It is not necessary to pull out the button - arrow - manually. The button locks in the installed position by itself when the handle is removed.
- Remove the cover.
with a Handle with a Sleeve
- Push the plastic part under the handle in the - direction of the arrow - and unlock the handle.
with a Handle with a Clamp
- Cut the clamp under the boot - arrow - with side cutters.
Continuation for All
- Disconnect the connector from the cover.
- Pull the handle up. Do not press the button while doing this.
• Do not push the button once the handle has been removed otherwise it will not be possible to install the handle again.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following:
• The selector lever is in the "D" position.
• There is the possibility that the button can be pressed into the handle. Never install the handle when the button is pressed in.
• Move the button into the installed position. Refer to => [ Handle Button, Moving Into the Installed Position ] Service and Repair.
• A new handle is delivered with an assembly aid. Pull out the assembly aid in the - direction of the arrow - just before installing the new handle.
with a Handle with a Sleeve
- Install the handle all the way onto the selector lever and lock it.
- Push the sleeve down to lock it.
with a Handle with a Camp
- Install the handle with a new clamp.
- Tighten the clamp using the hose clamp pliers (V.A.G 1275).
- Press the button after installing it.
• If the button stays in the handle after being pressed, this means it was installed incorrectly. If this happens, remove the handle again and move the button into the installed position. Refer to => [ Handle Button, Moving Into the Installed Position ] Service and Repair. Then reinstall the handle again.
