Front Coolant Pipe







Front Coolant Pipe

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6362)

Removing

- Drain the high temperature coolant circuit. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling, High Temperature Coolant Circuit ] Draining and Filling, High Temperature Coolant Circuit.

- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

- Remove the left front coolant pipes. Refer to => [ Coolant Pipes ] Coolant Pipes.

- Remove the coolant hose - arrow - from the front coolant pipe by lifting the retaining clamp.






- Squeeze the locking mechanism - arrows - and remove the coolant regulation valve - 1 -.






- Remove the secondary air hose - 1 - and the coolant hose - arrow -.






- Loosen the clamp - 1 - and disconnect the connector - 2 - from the engine coolant temperature sensor.






- Remove the bolt - 3 - and the bolts - arrows -.

- Move the pipe forward, pull up and remove it from the engine

Installing

- Clean or smooth the O-rings sealing surface before installing.

- Replace seals and O-rings.

- Lubricate the seals and O-rings with coolant and then install them on the coolant pipe.

Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps that are specific to that model. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

Fill the high temperature coolant circuit. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling, High Temperature Coolant Circuit ] Draining and Filling, High Temperature Coolant Circuit.
