DTC 111

EAA. Code 1-1-1

No fault recorded

The control module has been unable to detect any electrical faults in the transmission circuitry or in circuitry connected to the transmission.

Mechanical faults without diagnostic codes

Faults may be purely mechanical, and do not always affect transmission function. Such faults include oil leaks or faults in adjacent components in the drive system. The latter often appear as noises which sometimes occur when driving. The illustration below shows where the most common mechanical faults not revealed by diagnostic codes may be found.

Loud whining noise in gear position N or R (Car stationary with engine running.)

Grating noise in gear position N or R (Car stationary with engine running.)

Squeaking noise with gear selected. (Car stationary with engine running.)

Prominent knock or metallic noise in any gear other than 4th gear.
