Deleting DTCS

Deleting DTCs:





All DTCs stored must be read off at least once before they can be deleted.
Once the first DTC read off reappears, this means all DTCs stored have been displayed. The next step is to delete them.
If there are any faults remaining, the control module diagnostic system will detect them when the ECC system is activated and store them again.





- Connect selector cable to output 1 on diagnostic unit B.
- Ignition on.
- Press button and hold it down for at least five seconds.
- Release button. LED will come on.
- Press button again when LED comes on and hold it down for at least five seconds.
- The DTCs stored are now deleted.

Check that DTCs have been deleted:





- Ignition off.
- Ignition on.
- Test ECC system. Test Procedures
Start test mode 1. Test Mode 1
- Press button. Keep it pressed for about one second.
- Read off LED flashes.





If code 1-1-1 appears: No DTCs stored. The codes which were stored have now been deleted.





If another code appears:
- Press button again as above to see if there is more than one DTC.
- Display all DTCs. Once the first DTC reappears, this means all DTCs have been read off.
- Go to the next step "DTCs which cannot be deleted".

DTCs Which Cannot Be Deleted:





- Have all DTCs been read off at least once:
- All DTCs stored must be read off at least once before they can be deleted.
- Start test mode 1 and read off DTCs again.
- When the DTCs read off first reappears, this means all DTCs stored have been read off. They can now be deleted. Go back to "Deleting DTCs.
- Have all faults been dealt with, if there are any faults left, the control module diagnostic system will detect them when the ECC system is activated and tested and will store the same DTCs again. Go to "Fault-tracing by DTCs". Testing and Inspection
