Procedures



Disconnect the heater unit

In the engine compartment:
Remove the mudflap at the top.






Fit two hose pliers 115 8957 on the hoses to the heat exchanger and remove the hoses.
Disconnect the AC-pipe in the engine compartment from the support.

In the passenger compartment:
Disconnect the cable harness and connectors located on the middle supports.
Remove the attaching screws from the middle supports and remove the supports.
Remove the control panel. [1][2]Procedures

Remove the heater unit

Disconnect all connectors.
Remove the power unit

Cars with AC:
Disconnect the AC-pipe in the engine compartment from the support.

Loosen the screws and the nut from the power unit and pull it backwards as far as possible
Remove the top part of the housing.
Disconnect the connector for the floor heater (1x bracket)
Press down the pipes and remove the bottom part.






Remove the four attaching nuts.
Pull loose the housing, press down the floor heater and remove the housing.

Remove the heater unit

Disconnect the control rod on the valve side.
Remove the bracket and all clips around it.
Carefully pull apart the parts.
Replace damaged parts, if needed.

Note! Do not remove the damper motors when adjusting.

Replace the refrigerant temp sensor. Service and Repair
Replace the heat exchanger. [1][2]Procedures
Check the seals (also on dampers).
Install the control mechanism last.
Install in the reverse order.
Check the damper motors' setting. Air Door Actuator / Motor

Install the heater unit

Check the seals.
Place the housing over the studs and tighten the nuts by hand.
Install the connector by the floor heater (1x bracket) and connect the heater pipes.






Press forcefully on the housing during tightening. Tighten the attaching nuts to 25 Nm.
Install the power unit (tightening torque 25 Nm for cars with AC).
Install the housing's top part (partition).
Plug in the connectors.

Install the whole heater unit

In the passenger compartment:
Install the supports for the instrument panel
Tightening torque: 10 Nm

Plug in the connectors and cables on the supports (with clips)
Tightening torque for ground connections 10 Nm

Install the control panel and adjust the cables. [1][2]Procedures

In the engine compartment:






Install new hose clamps.
Install and secure the hoses.
Install the mudflap at the top.

Cars with AC: Replace the hose on the support.

Check function and fill the cooling system.
