HandsFreeLink System Symptom Troubleshooting - Pairing instructions are not displayed on the screen
Pairing instructions are not displayed on the screen (with navigation)
NOTE:
- Before doing this troubleshooting, refer to General Troubleshooting Information Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview to make sure the phone is compatible and configured correctly. You can also check online at www.acura.com/handsfreelink, or call the HFL support desk at 888-528-7876.
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Make sure the cell phone is Acura approved. (www.acura.com/handsfreelink)
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Check if any system(s) other than Bluetooth audio system is displayed.
Does the other system display normally?
YES -
Go to step 3.
NO -
Replace the navigation display unit Service and Repair.�
3. Press USB/AUX button to select Bluetooth Audio source.
Does it change to Bluetooth Audio source?
YES -
Go to step 4.
NO -
Go to Bluetooth audio does not work Bluetooth Audio Does Not Work.�
4. Check if the audio system functions normally.
Is the system normal?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Go to symptom troubleshooting for No sound when Bluetooth audio is used No Sound When Bluetooth Audio Is Used.�
5. If you have the client's phone, go to step 6. Otherwise, pair a known-good cell phone to the client's vehicle.
Can you pair the Bluetooth phone, and does it operate normally?
YES -
The client's Bluetooth phone is defective or not compatible.�
NO -
Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.�
6. Pair the client's phone to a known-good vehicle.
Can you pair the Bluetooth phone, and does it operate normally?
YES -
Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.�
NO -
The client's Bluetooth phone is defective or not compatible.�
