Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) DTC Troubleshooting: 26

DTC 26:

Steering Angle Sensor Adherence Failure

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, check the steering angle sensor installation.

1. Check for VSA system DTCs with the HDS Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

Are any DTCs indicated?

YES -

Troubleshoot the indicated VSA system DTC(s).�

NO -

Go to step 2.

2. Check the STEERING ANGLE in the DATA LIST with the HDS, and turn the steering wheel from lock-to-lock.

Do any values change?

YES -

Faulty ACC unit; check for loose or poor connections. If OK, update the ACC unit Programming and Relearning, then recheck. If the ACC unit was already updated, replace the ACC unit Service and Repair.�

NO -

Faulty steering angle sensor; replace the steering angle sensor Service and Repair, then do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization Programming and Relearning.�
