Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - All the doors and the trunk will not lock and unlock

All the doors and the trunk will not lock and unlock

1. Insert the remote into the remote slot.

Does the remote go in?

YES -

Go to step 2.

NO -

Go to keyless access symptom troubleshooting "Remote will not go into the remote slot" Symptom Troubleshooting.�

2. Remove the remote from the remote slot, and close all doors.

3. Push the LOCK and the UNLOCK buttons of the remote, and check if the LED on the remote comes on.

Does the LED come on?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Replace the remote battery and recheck the system. If the symptom does not go away, replace the remote.�

4. Lock and unlock the driver's door with the driver's door lock switch.

Do the door lock actuators work normally?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Check the B-CAN system DTCs. If not, check the door lock system.�

5. Lock and unlock the front passenger's door with the front passenger's door lock switch.

Do the door lock actuators work normally?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

Check the B-CAN system DTCs. If not, check the door lock system.�

6. Push the UNLOCK button of the remote at least 10 times.

Do the actuators operate?

YES -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�

NO -

Go to step 7.

7. Open the driver's door.

Does the key-in reminder sound?

YES -

Go to the keyless access system symptom troubleshooting "The key-in reminder sounds when the remote is removed from the remote slot and door is open" Symptom Troubleshooting.�

NO -

Go to step 8.

8. Turn the keyless access system mode switch ON.

9. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

Does the system change to ON mode?

YES -

Go to step 12.

NO -

Go to step 10.

10. Insert the remote into the remote slot.

11. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

Does the system change to ON mode?

YES -

Go to the keyless access system symptom troubleshooting "Cannot select ON mode with keyless access, but can select ON mode with the remote in the remote slot" Symptom Troubleshooting.�

NO -

Go to the keyless access system symptom troubleshooting "Cannot select ON mode with keyless access or with the remote in the remote slot" Symptom Troubleshooting.�

12. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC).

13. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Are any DTCs indicated?

YES -

Go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.�

NO -

Go to step 14.

14. Select KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT from the ONE-PUSH START system select menu with the HDS, and enter HISTORY CLEAR.

15. Select HISTORY DATA with the HDS.

16. Insert the remote into the remote slot, then check the HISTORY DATA.

Is all the information OK?

YES -

Go to step 17.

NO -

Go to step 19.

17. Select KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT from the ONE-PUSH START system select menu with the HDS, then enter SELF CHECK.

18. Select KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT from the ONE-PUSH START system select menu, and check for KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT DTCs with the HDS.

Are any DTCs indicated?

YES -

Troubleshoot the KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL UNIT DTCs.�

NO -

Go to the driver's MICU input test, and do all power, ground, and communication input tests Drivers and Passengers MICU Input Test. If the tests prove OK, replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box Drivers Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box (Drivers MICU) Removal and Installation.�

19. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

20. Remove the remote from the remote slot.

21. Disconnect the remote slot 16P connector.

22. Close all doors.

23. Push the UNLOCK button of the remote.

Do the door lock actuators work normally?

YES -

Replace the remote slot Keyless Access Remote Slot Test/Replacement (With Keyless Access System).�

NO -

Replace the keyless access control unit Keyless Access System (Keyless Access, Keyless Access Remote Slot, and Power Control Units) Input Test.�
