SH AWD DTC Troubleshooting: 35-1, 35-2

DTC 35-1, 35-2:

Yaw Rate Sensor Neutral Position Incorrect

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

3. Start the engine.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC 35-1 and/or 35-2 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

5. Park the vehicle on a level surface.

6. Check the VOLTAGE OF YAW RATE SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is there 2.2-2.8 V?

YES -

Go to step 7.

NO -

Check for installation of the yaw rate-acceleration sensor Service and Repair.

7. Check for yaw rate-acceleration neutral position memorization with the HDS.

Is the yaw rate-acceleration neutral position memorization completed?

YES -

Substitute a known-good SH-AWD control unit Service and Repair and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with the known-good SH-AWD control unit, replace the original SH-AWD control unit Service and Repair.

NO -

Do the yaw rate-acceleration neutral position memorization Testing and Inspection.
