Basic Setting (Function 04)

Basic Setting

Function "04 - Basic setting" can be used to implement the following operation with engine stopped and ignition switched on:
- Adaptation of throttle valve control module to engine control module Display group 060. Programming and Relearning
- Vehicles with automatic transmission: Adaptation of kickdown function of accelerator pedal position sender to engine control module Display group 063.

With the engine running, the basic setting function can be used to implement the following operations:
- Generation of readiness code (mixture adaptation). Readiness Code, Generating
- Testing of mixture preparation system

Requirements for operations with engine running:
- No faults stored in fault memory
- Coolant temperature at least 80 degree C
- Electrical loads switched off (coolant fan must not run during test)
- Air conditioner switched off
- Vehicles with automatic transmission: Selector lever set to P or N

Work sequence
- Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 and select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from list. Ignition must be on. Connecting VAS 5051 Scan Tool

Or, depending on desired operation:
- Start engine.

- From list -1- select diagnostic function "04 - Basic setting".

1 Enter display group
- Use keypad -2- to enter required three-digit display group number and confirm entry by touching Q key.

Example:
- Enter "001" for "Display group number 001" and confirm by touching Q key.

A Activate basic setting

NOTE: Basic setting is initiated after touching key -A-.
