Basic Setting (Function 04)

With the ignition on and engine not running, the following operation can be performed in the "Basic settings" mode (function 04):
- Adaptation of throttle valve control part to engine control module => Display Group 060

With the engine running, the following operation can be performed in the Basic settings mode:
- Learning process for oxygen sensor control

Requirements for operations performed with the engine running:
- No faults stored in DTC memory
- Coolant temperature at least 80 degrees C
- Electrical consumers switched off (radiator fan must not run during the test)
- Air conditioner switched off

Test sequence
- Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051, Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions , and select the vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from the menu. When doing this the ignition should be switched on.
or, depending on the function required:
- Start the engine.







Display on VAS 5051:
- Select the diagnosis function "04 - Basic settings" from the menu -1-.







Display on VAS 5051:
1 - Enter display group
(figures up to 255)
- Using the keypad -2-, enter the required display group number (3 figures) and confirm entry with the Q button.

Example:

- Enter "000" to select display group number 000 and confirm entry with Q button.

NOTE: When the display group is selected the EVAP purge regulator valve is closed and the air conditioner compressor is switched off.

- Press the <- button to exit from diagnosis function "04 - Basic settings".
