Tightening Specifications
After connecting the transmission control module, perform the following work:
• Complete coding for new transmission control module.
• Perform adaptation for transmission control module.
Use vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) for this.
If the transmission control module was replaced, check the following points before driving the vehicle to prevent damage to the transmission:
• Check the vehicle's repair history to see if the transmission input shaft was changed from 6 lining discs to 7 lining discs.
• If this is the case, using the (VAS 5051B), see if the transmission control module program must be updated.
• If an update programming is needed, but not executed, transmission components will be damaged.
• If no update programming is needed, but one is executed anyway, transmission components will be damaged.
Check whether update programming in transmission control module must be performed:
• The (VAS 5051B) is connected.
- Vehicle-specific access to (VAS 5051B) in the Guided Functions.
- Perform a vehicle selection.
- Make the following selection in the functions:
• Through this process in (VAS 5051B) update programming is only carried out for transmission control module when necessary.
- If necessary, carry out update programming in transmission control module (J217).
