Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Special pop rivet pliers (V.A.G 1753A)

• Drill

• Protective eyewear

Removing






- Remove the rear center armrest. Refer to => [ Rear Center Armrest ] Rear Center Armrest.

- Vehicles with a storage compartment: remove the rear storage compartment inside the rear center armrest. Refer to => [ Rear Center Armrest Storage Compartment ] Rear Center Armrest Storage Compartment.

- Vehicles without a storage compartment: remove the rear center armrest trim. Refer to => [ Divided Rear Seat Backrest Center Armrest Trim ] Divided Rear Seat Backrest Center Armrest Trim.

• Lay plastic film between the backrest cover and the backrest frame to protect against metal shavings.

Risk of injury!

• Wear protective eyewear.

- Drill out rivet - 3 -.

- Remove the 2 nuts - 4 -.

- Remove the center armrest mount - 1 - from the threaded pins - 5 - and pull it off the profile - 2 - - arrow -.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
