Front Trim Bracket, Compressor and Multicontour Seat Control Module

Removing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

- Remove the front seat:

• Comfort reclining seat => [ Comfort Reclining Seat ] Comfort Reclining Seat

• Multicontour seat => [ Standard Seat ] Standard Seat.

- Remove the multicontour seat compressor. Refer to => [ Compressor Multicontour Seat Compressors V439/V440 ] Compressor Multicontour Seat Compressors V439/V440.

- Remove memory seat/steering column adjustment control module Refer to => [ Memory Seat/Steering Column Adjustment Control Module J136/J521 ] Memory Seat/Steering Column Adjustment Control Module J136/J521.

- Remove sill side trim together with front trim Refer to => [ Sill-Side Trim with Front Trim ] Sill-Side Trim with Front Trim.

- Partially remove the upholstery from the front seat - 1 -. Refer to => [ Seat Cover with Seat Cushion for Comfort Reclining and Multicontour Seat, Removing and Installing ] Seat Cover with Seat Cushion for Comfort Reclining and Multicontour Seat, Removing and Installing.






- Disconnect harness connector - 3 - and free up electrical wire.

- Remove the bolts - 2 and 4 - and the bracket - arrow -.

Installing






- Insert front bracket - arrows - by making sure that the tabs - 2 - grip into the bracket - 1, 3, 4 -.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

• Observe all measures when installing the front seat. Refer to => [ Standard Seat ] Standard Seat.
