Removing and Installing/Replacing Interlock Cable (Vehicles Up To 09/05)

32 32 170 - Removing and installing/replacing interlock cable (vehicles up to 09/05)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove trim for storage tray 51 16 211 - Removing and installing/replacing finisher for storage tray
- Remove front insert for ashtray

After installation:
- Adjusting interlock cable Adjustments





Release screw (1) and remove bracket (2).

Move interlock cable (3) to left and then remove towards front.

If necessary, secure cord/cable to interlock cable (3).





Important!
Do not kink interlock cable.





Turn guide sleeve (1) through approx. 45°.

Remove interlock cable (2) from steering column and pull out.

If necessary, remove cord/wire from interlock cable (2).





Replacement only:

Tie cord/wire to end of new interlock cable.
