Diagnosis D: DTC 21 And/Or DTC 22 Set:

OPERATION:
When ignition switch is turned to RUN or released from START, DERM checks voltage at sense high and sense low terminals.

If both voltages are OK, DTC 21, DTC 22 test starts. Force high and force low switches close. DERM calculates steering column circuit (Inflator, SIR Coils and wiring) resistance.

This test Is made only once in an ignition cycle.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
DTC 21 - High resistance, total circuit resistance is more than 5 ohms. Inflator module, SIR coil assembly, wiring or connector has developed a high resistance or there is a problem in resistor module or its wiring.

DTC 22 - Low resistance, total circuit resistance is less than 2 ohms. Inflator module or SIR coil assembly resistance has dropped or there is a problem in resistor module or its wiring.

DTC 21 and DTC 22 - There is a wiring or resistor module problem which prevents completion of test.
