9K-3 Rear Glass Release Inoperative
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) senses no voltage on CKT 693 and CKT 275, the rear glass release function can be activated using the transmitter. When the RCDLR senses voltage on CKT 639 and CKT 275, (ignition switch m RUN" and A/T in "PARK") the rear glass release function can also be activated using the transmitter. When the RCDLR senses voltage on CKT 639 (ignition switch in RUN") and no voltage on CKT 275 (A/T not "PARK") the rear glass release function cannot be activated by the transmitter.
CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Determine an RKE system fault or rear glass release system fault.
2. Test the backup lamp and transmission position (Park/Neutral Position (PNP)) switch. With the A/T in "PARK," the backup lamp and transmission position (PNP) switch should be closed, applying voltage to CKT 275.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Program a known good transmitter (see procedure) and test the rear glass release function. If the rear glass release function operate normally, the original transmitter was defective. If the rear glass release functions are still inoperative replace the RCDLR. If a known good transmitter will not program, refer to 9K-8. 9K-8 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver/Trans Will Not Program
