Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. With an assistant, remove the lid assembly (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement (Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement) .
3. Remove the rear shelf trim. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) in Interior Trim.
4. Remove the extension pin. Refer to Spring Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid Hinge (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the hinge strap retaining pin (2).
Discard the pin.
6. Remove the hinge strap (4).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the hinge strap (4).
2. Install a new hinge strap retaining pin (2).
3. Install the rear shelf trim. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) in Interior Trim.
4. Install the extension spring. Refer to Spring Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid Hinge (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement (Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement) .
6. With an assistant, install the lid assembly (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Inspect the rear compartment lid for proper alignment.
Align the lid as necessary. Refer toRear Compartment Lid Adjustment (Adjustments) .
