Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The calibrations for the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) are stored in EEPROM. When the ignition is first turned ON, the IPC performs internal tests on the EEPROM and can determine the integrity of the EEPROM's non-volatile memory. A DTC 051 indicates that the EEPROM is either not programmed or an internal malfunction exists. A DTC 052 indicates that the EEPROM is partially programmed.

TEST DESCRIPTION

Steps 1-4:

The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
2. This step reprograms the instrument cluster using the scan tool.
4. Clear all DTCs within the IPC after performing this diagnostic table.
