Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement (Rear Compartment Lid Replacement).
3. Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) in Interior Trim.
4. Remove the torque rods Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the fasteners (1) securing the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
6. Remove the fasteners (2) securing the rear edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
7. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear compartment lid hinge.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fasteners (1) in order to secure the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.

Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the fasteners (2) in order to secure the rear edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.

Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).





4. Install the torque rods. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement (Rear Compartment Lid Replacement).
6. Check and adjust the rear compartment. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment (Adjustments).
7. Install the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Close the rear compartment lid.
