Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure





1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear (Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear).
3. Remove the rear compartment lid wiring harness from the rear compartment lid. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Wiring Harness Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid).

Notice: Refer to Tape Corners of Panel Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Remove the fasteners (3) securing the rear compartment lid (1) to the rear compartment lid hinge (2) with the aid of an assistant.
5. Remove the rear compartment lid (1) from the vehicle with the aid of a assistant.




6. Remove the backup lamp. Refer to Backup Lamp Replacement.
7. Remove the high mounted stoplamp. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement.
8. Remove the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair).
9. Remove the rear compartment lid lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair).
10. Remove the rear compartment lid overslam bumpers (2) from the rear compartment lid (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear compartment lid overslam bumpers (2) to the rear compartment lid (1).
2. Install the rear compartment lid lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair).
3. Install the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair).
4. Install the high mounted stoplamp. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement.
5. Install the backup lamps. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement.
6. Position the rear compartment lid (1) to the hinges, with an assistant.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

7. Install the fasteners (3) to the rear compartment lid (1) to the rear compartment lid hinge (2) with an assistant.

Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

8. Install the rear compartment lid wiring harness from the rear compartment lid. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Wiring Harness Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid).
9. Install the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear (Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear).
