Automatic Level Control Air Compressor Tube Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle enough so that all 4 tires assemblies are just off the ground. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair
Warning
Do NOT remove an air compressor tube in an attempt to depressurize the air suspension. Always follow the Air Suspension Depressurization Procedure in Air Suspension. Failure to follow this procedure may cause personal injury or damage to the air compressor and/or air spring tube fittings.
2. Depressurize the air suspension system. Refer to Air Suspension System Depressurization and Pressurization Procedures.
3. Raise the vehicle to a suitable working height.
4. Remove the air suspension tubes (1) from the air compressor.
5. Remove the air compressor tubes (1) from the air springs.
6. Remove the 2 air compressor tube retainers (1) from the frame rail.
7. Remove the 3 air compressor tubes retainers from the cross member (2).
8. Remove the air compressor tube assembly (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the air compressor tubes in the vehicle.
2. Install the 3 air compressor tubes retainers (2) to the cross member.
3. Install the 2 air compressor tubes retainers (1) to the frame rail.
4. Install the new air compressor tube fittings to the rear air springs and the rear air spring compressor. Refer to Automatic Level Control Air Compressor Tube Fitting Replacement Automatic Level Control Air Compressor Tube Fitting Replacement.
5. Push the air compressor tubes into the NEW fittings and pull outward seating the air tubes to the fittings.
Caution: Do NOT pressurize the air springs under load or damage to the air spring will occur. Always pressurize the system with the wheels of the vehicle off the ground.
6. Lower the vehicle, but DO NOT allow the tires assemblies to touch the ground.
7. Pressurize the air suspension system. Refer to Air Suspension System Depressurization and Pressurization Procedures.
8. Run the vehicle for approximately (1) minute.
9. Check for leaks at all fitting areas, repair if necessary.
10. Lower the vehicle.
