B1E50-3RD ROW SEAT RIGHT STOW/TAILGATE CONTROL CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE





For a complete wiring diagram REFER to DIAGRAMS/ELECTRICAL .


- When Monitored:
Whenever the Right Stow/Tailgate Motor is activated.

- Set Condition:
If the Folding Seat Module does not detect seat motor rotation from the motor position sensor after a switch activation input, this DTC will set.






Diagnostic Test


1. CHECK FOR RELATED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display seat position sensor DTC?

Yes


- Diagnose and repair the other DTC(s) first.


No


- Go To 2


2. INSPECT SEAT MECHANICAL OPERATION
Gain access to and inspect the following components:

- Broken seat welds or frame.


- Inspect each seat leg latch micro switch for proper mechanical operation.


- Check seat leg latch mechanical operation by manually closing and releasing each latch and note any sticking, wear or damage.


- Seat leg for binding or an object or obstruction in latch striker pocket.


- Manually operate the latch release actuator and check for any binding in the latch release cable system.


Were any problems found?

No


- Go To 3


Yes


- Repair or replace component(s) as necessary.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


3. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
With the scan tool, erase all DTC's.
Activate the seat switch of the affected positions three times.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes


- Go To 4


No


- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.

4. CHECK THE (P326) RIGHT SEAT STOW POSITION SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AT IN-LINE




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the C391 Power Folding Rear Seat 16 way in-line harness connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.

Connect a voltmeter between the (P326) Right Seat Stow Position Sensor Supply circuit and the (P321) Right Seat Back Position Sensor Return circuit at the 16 way in-line harness connector.
With the Folding Seat Switch select the right seat.
Depress the Stow position switch.
Is the voltage 10.0 volts?

Yes


- Go To 5


No


- Go To 11



5. CHECK THE (P299) RIGHT SEAT MOTOR STOW DRIVER CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AT IN-LINE




Using a 12-volt test light connect one lead to the (P299) Right Seat Motor Stow Driver circuit at the in-line harness connector and the other lead to ground.
With the right seat selected at the folding seat switch, depress any folding seat button twice then alternate to a different button and depress it twice.

NOTE: Light should flash On with second button press.

Does the test light flash On momentarily?

Yes


- Go To 6


No


- Go To 13



6. CHECK THE (P300) RIGHT SEAT MOTOR UNSTOW DRIVER CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AT IN-LINE




Using a 12-volt test light connect one lead to the (P300) Right Seat Motor Unstow Driver circuit at the in-line harness connector and the other lead to ground.
With the right seat selected at the folding seat switch, depress any folding seat button twice then alternate to a different button and depress it twice.
Does the test light flash On momentarily?

Yes


- Go To 7


No


- Go To 14



7. CHECK THE (P299) RIGHT SEAT MOTOR STOW DRIVER CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AT MOTOR




Reconnect the in-line connector.
Disconnect the Right Power Rear Folding Seat Stow Motor connector.
Using a 12-volt test light connect one lead to the (P299) Right Seat Motor Stow Driver circuit at the motor connector and the other lead to ground.
With the right seat selected at the folding seat switch, depress any folding seat button twice then alternate to a different button and depress it twice.
Does the test light flash On momentarily?

Yes


- Go To 8


No


- Repair the open (P299) Right Seat Motor Stow Driver circuit back to the in-line connector.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


8. CHECK THE (P300) RIGHT SEAT STOW UNSTOW DRIVER CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AT MOTOR




Using a 12-volt test light connect one lead to the (P300) Right Seat Motor Unstow Driver circuit at the Seat Motor harness connector and the other lead to ground.
With the right seat selected at the folding seat switch, depress any folding seat button twice then alternate to a different button and depress it twice.
Does the test light flash On momentarily?

Yes


- Go To 9


No


- Repair the open (P300) Right Seat Motor Unstow Driver circuit back to the in-line connector.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


9. CHECK THE RIGHT SEAT STOW POSITION SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AT MOTOR




Connect a voltmeter between the (P326) Right Seat Stow Position Sensor Supply circuit and the (P321) Right Seat Back Position Sensor Return circuit at the Seat Motor harness connector.
With the Folding Seat Switch select the right seat.
Depress the Stow position switch.
Is the voltage 10.0 volts?

Yes


- Replace the motor assembly.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


No


- Go To 10



10. CHECK THE RIGHT SEAT STOW POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN




Disconnect the C391 Power Folding Rear Seat 16 way in-line harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (P326) Right Seat Back Position Sensor Supply circuit between the Seat Motor harness connector and the in-line harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 ohms?

Yes


- Repair the (P321) Right Seat Back Position Sensor Return circuit for an open.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


No


- Repair the (P326) Right Seat Stow Position Sensor Supply circuit for an open.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


11. CHECK THE (P326) RIGHT SEAT STOW POSITION SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN




Disconnect the Folding Seat Module C3 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (P326) Right Seat Stow Position Sensor Supply circuit between the Folding Seat Module C3 harness connector and the in-line harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 ohms?

Yes


- Go To 12


No


- Repair the (P326) Right Seat Stow Position Sensor Supply circuit for an open.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


12. CHECK THE (P321) RIGHT SEAT BACK POSITION SENSOR RETURN CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN




Measure the resistance of the (P321) Right Seat Back Position Sensor Return circuit between the Folding Seat Module C3 harness connector and the in-line harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 ohms?

Yes


- Replace the Folding Seat Module.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


No


- Repair the (P321) Right Seat Back Position Sensor Return circuit for an open.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


13. CHECK THE (P299) RIGHT SEAT MOTOR STOW DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN




Disconnect the Folding Seat Module C4 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (P299) Right Seat Motor Stow Driver circuit between the in-line harness connector to the Folding Seat Module C4 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 ohms?

Yes


- Replace the Folding Seat Module.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


No


- Repair the (P299) Right Seat Motor Stow Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


14. CHECK THE (P300) RIGHT SEAT MOTOR UNSTOW DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN




Disconnect the Folding Seat Module C4 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (P300) Right Seat Motor Unstow Driver circuit between the in-line harness connector and the Folding Seat Module C4 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 ohms?

Yes


- Replace the Folding Seat Module.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test


No


- Repair the (P300) Right Seat Motor Unstow Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test
