B1004-01-DEVICE HALTED

- When Monitored:
Continuously with the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The DTC will set if the temperature inside the Convergence Telematics Module (CTM) exceeds its operating temperature of 75°C (167°F) or the input voltage is above 16 volts for greater than 3 seconds.





1. VERIFY THAT DTC B1004-01-DEVICE HALTED IS ACTIVE
1. With the scan tool, erase the CTM DTCs.
2. Start the engine and allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
3. If the vehicle has been in the hot sunlight or extreme cold, move the vehicle indoors and open the doors to allow the inside temperature to stabilize.
4. The CTM should operate between -39°C and 75°C (-38°F and 167°F).
5. With the scan tool, read the CTM DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: B1004-01-DEVICE HALTED as active?

Yes

- Turn the ignition off and allow the Convergence Telematics Module (CTM) to cool.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 2

2. CHECK FOR POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DTCS
1. Using the scan tool, read the active PCM DTCs.

Are there any battery or charging system DTCs?

Yes

- Testing and Inspection Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.

No

- Go To 3

3. TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, erase the CTM DTCs.
2. Start the engine and allow the engine to idle for two minutes.
3. With the scan tool, read the CTM DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: B1004-01-DEVICE HALTED as active?

Yes

- Replace the Convergence Telematics Module (CTM). Convergence Telematics Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
