Oil Pump Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Engine) Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Engine)Battery Cable Replacement (Positive Cable) Service and RepairBattery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Frame) Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Frame) in Engine Electrical.
2. Drain the crankcase. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Remove the oil pan from the engine block. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Remove the oil pump retaining bolts from the oil pump.
5. Remove the oil pump assembly from the engine block.
Installation Procedure
Important: When installing the oil pump, always replace the retainer between the oil pump and the shaft.
1. Install the oil pump to the engine block.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
2. Install the oil pump mounting bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 88 Nm (65 lb ft).
3. Install the oil pan to the engine block. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Connect the battery negative cables to the battery. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Engine) Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Engine)Battery Cable Replacement (Positive Cable) Service and RepairBattery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Frame) Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Frame) in Engine Electrical.
