Generator Bracket Replacement (LG5 without A/C)

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Engine) Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Engine)Battery Cable Replacement (Positive Cable) Service and RepairBattery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Frame) Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Frame).
2. Remove the drive belt.




3. Loosen the generator mounting (bottom) bolt.
4. Remove the generator mounting (top) bolt.
5. Remove the generator adjusting bracket mounting bolts.
6. Remove the generator adjusting bracket from the fan drive support assembly.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the generator adjusting bracket to the fan drive support assembly.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the generator adjusting bracket mounting bolts.

Tighten the generator adjusting bracket mounting bolts to 73 Nm (54 lb ft).

3. Install the generator mounting (top) bolt.

Tighten the generator mounting (top) bolt to 88 Nm (65 lb ft).

4. Install the generator mounting (bottom) bolt.

Tighten the generator mounting (bottom) bolt to 71 Nm (52 lb ft).

5. Install the drive belt.
6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Engine) Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Engine)Battery Cable Replacement (Positive Cable) Service and RepairBattery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Frame) Battery Cable Replacement (Negative Cable to Frame).
