INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY


Removal and Installation


WORK STEP
When removing instrument panel assembly, combination meter, AV control unit, center console assembly take steps in the order shown by the number below.






CAUTION:
When removing, always use a remover tool that is made of plastic.

REMOVAL
1. Put selector lever in drive position.
2. Remove selector lever knob.
- Removal and Installation.(2WD models)
- Removal and Installation.(AWD models)





3. Remove console finisher assembly.
- Pull console finisher (1), upward to disengage from center console.
- Disconnect harness connectors.

Triangle: Pawl
Square : Metal clip





4. Disconnect console sub harness connectors (A).
5. Remove center console fixing screws (B).
6. Put front seat to front must position.





7. Remove console rear finisher.
- Pull back the console rear finisher (1) with remover tool (A).
- Disconnect inside key antenna connector.

Square : Metal clip





8. Remove rear ventilator duct (1). .
9. Remove center console fixing screws (A).
10. Remove center console assembly.
- Lift up center console assembly back side.
- Disconnect harness connectors.
11. Put front seat to rear most position.





12. Remove instrument side finisher LH.
- Insert a remover tool into lower space.
- Pull the instrument side finisher LH (1) crosswise.

13. Remove instrument lower panel LH.
- Remove hood opener lever fixing bolts (A).
- Pull back instrument lower panel LH (1).
- Remove skirt clips of steering column lower cover (2).
- Release data link connector (pawl) then remove it from instrument lower panel LH.
- Disconnect harness connectors and aspirator duct.

14. Remove steering wheel. Removal and Installation.





15. Remove steering column covers.
- Remove steering column mask (1).
- Remove steering column cover fixing screws (A).
- Pull up steering column upper cover (2).
- Remove cluster lid A (4) fixing clips and pawls, and then remove steering column upper cover.
- Pull down steering column lower cover (3), and then remove steering column lower cover.
- Disconnect ADP steering switch connector. (with ADP)

16. Remove combination switch. Removal and Installation.





17. Remove cluster lid A (upper).
- Pull back cluster lid A (upper) (1), and disengage pawls and metal clips.
- Remove cluster lid A (upper).

18. Remove cluster lid A.
- Remove cluster lid A (1) fixing screws (A).
- Pull back cluster lid A, and disengage metal clips.
- Remove cluster lid A.

19. Remove combination meter. Exploded View.





20. Remove instrument harness (1) fixing clips (A).





21. Disconnect trip A/B reset switch (1) harness connector (A). Exploded View.
22. Remove front body side welt LH. Removal and Installation.
23. Remove front pillar garnish LH. Removal and Installation.





24. Disconnect antenna connectors (A).
25. Remove harness clip (B).





26. Remove speaker grille LH.
- Pull up and back speaker grille LH (1).
- Disconnect front squawker harness connector.

27. Remove center speaker grille.
- Disengage center speaker grille (1) fixing clips and pawls with remover tool (A).
- Pull up center speaker grille.

28. Remove center speaker. (with BOSE AUDIO) Without Navigation.





29. Remove instrument side panel LH.
- Remove instrument side panel LH (1) fixing screws (A).
- Pull toward the arrow direction.

30. Remove inside key antenna. Removal and Installation.





31. Remove harness connector bracket (1) fixing screw (A).





32. Remove cluster lid C.
- Remove cluster lid C (1) fixing screws (A).
- Pull down and back cluster lid C.
- Disconnect harness connectors.

Triangle: Pawl






33. Remove cluster lid D.
- Remove cluster lid D (1) fixing screws (A).
- Pull back cluster lid D.
- Disconnect harness connectors.

Triangle: Pawl






34. Remove display unit.
- Remove display unit (1) fixing screws (A).
- Pull toward the arrow direction.
- Disconnect harness connectors.





35. Remove AV control unit. Base Audio.
- Remove AV control unit (1) fixing screws (A).
- Pull back AV control unit.
- Disconnect harness connectors.
36. Remove push button ignition switch. Intelligent Key System.
37. Remove front defroster grille LH. Front Defroster Grille.
38. Remove front defroster grille RH. Front Defroster Grille.





39. Remove instrument side finisher RH.
- Insert a remover tool into lower space.
- Pull the instrument side finisher RH (1) crosswise.

Triangle: Pawl

40. Remove glove box assembly.
- Open the glove box.





- Pull back glove box assembly (1).





- Remove damper pin (1) of left side.

41. Remove instrument lower cover.
- Pull downward, disengaged pawls.
- Pull back instrument lower cover (1).
- Disconnect illumination lamp harness connector.

Triangle: Pawl






42. Remove instrument lower panel RH.
- Remove instrument lower panel RH (1) fixing screws (A).
- Pull back instrument lower panel RH.
- Disconnect glove box lamp harness connector.

Triangle: Pawl

43. Disconnect front passenger air bag module connector. Exploded View.
44. Remove front passenger air bag module fixing bolt. Removal and Installation.





45. Remove instrument side panel RH.
- Remove instrument side panel RH (1) fixing screws (A).
- Pull toward the arrow direction.

46. Remove front body side welt RH. Removal and Installation.
47. Remove front pillar garnish RH. Removal and Installation.





48. Remove speaker grille RH.
- Pull up and back tweeter grille RH (1).
- Disconnect front squawker harness connector.

49. Remove instrument panel assembly mounting bolts (A), screws (B) and clips (C).






CAUTION:
Cover tool with a shop cloth to prevent windshield glass being damaged.
50. Remove instrument panel assembly.

CAUTION:
- Cover center console upper surface with a shop cloth to prevent it from being damaged.
- When removing instrument panel assembly, 2 workers are required so as to prevent it from dropping.
51. Remove the following parts after removing instrument panel assembly.
- Front passenger air bag module. Removal and Installation.
- Center ventilator grille LH/RH. Center Ventilator Grille.
- Side ventilator grille LH/RH. Side Ventilator Grille.
- Ventilator duct LH/RH. Ventilator Duct.
- Adaptor duct. Adaptor Duct.
- Defroster nozzle. Defroster Nozzle.
- Side defroster nozzle LH/RH. Side Defroster Nozzle.
- Antenna feeder. Base Audio Without Navigation.
- GPS antenna. Exploded View.
- Trip A/B reset switch. Removal and Installation.

INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
