Diagnosis Procedure




SNOW MODE SWITCH

4WD : Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK DTC WITH COMBINATION METER

Refer to "CONSULT Function" Combination Meter.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- Go to "Work flow" Work Flow.

2. CHECK SNOW MODE SWITCH POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect 4WD switch assembly harness connector.
3.Turn ignition switch ON.
4.Check the voltage between 4WD switch assembly harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 4.
NO- GO TO 3.

3. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART

Check the following.
- Fuse block harness connector M3
- 10 A fuse (No. 13)
- Harness for open or short between 4WD switch assembly and fuse.
- Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

4. CHECK SNOW MODE SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT

1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect combination meter harness connector.
3.Check the continuity between 4WD switch assembly harness connector and combination meter harness connector.





4.Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 5.
NO- Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connector.

5. CHECK SNOW MODE SWITCH

Refer to "4WD : Component Inspection" Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 6.
NO- Replace 4WD switch assembly. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.

6. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

Refer to "Intermittent Incident" Intermittent Incident.
